Hotel Set To Be Built Near Fairgrounds

A 124-room, four-story Value Place hotel is set to be built on the west side of Preston Highway, just north of Gate 6 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
Construction is expected to start soon on the extended-stay facility, as a variance to allow parking in a required setback area was recently approved by the Louisville Metro Board of Zoning Adjustment, The Courier-Journal reports.

The project doesn\’t need any more major approvals, the story said.

The Preston Highway location would be Value Place\’s fifth in the Louisville area. The other locations are on Kentucky Mills Drive near Interstate 64 and Blankenbaker Parkway in Jeffersontown; near the Gene Snyder Freeway and New Cut Road; on Brookridge Village Boulevard at Bardstown Road and the Gene Snyder; and off Interstate 65 in Clarksville, Ind., the story said.
The company says that its low overhead costs help keep the costs down for its customers. Each location usually just has four or five employees, the story said.
